About GIFFIN'TERMEER: In 2003 Jess Giffin & Jim TerMeer began collaborating on a series of small design projects that draw as much from art as from design, privileges concept, the everyday experience of products and small-scale production. They live and work in Chicago.

Jess brings an artists perspective to design. Central to her work is an engagement with cultural issues and conceptual art. Jess holds a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA in Print Media from the Cranbrook Academy of Art.

Jim uses a decade’s worth of experience as an industrial designer for technology products as both technical foundation and reactive catalyst for his current work. Jim holds a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and an MA in design (2002) from the Design Academy Eindhoven.
